Life is music – what song do you play?? 🎶
Life is music. Not as a metaphor, but as a truth. We, humans, are made up of frequencies, vibrations and energy – just like notes in a song. Imagine that each person carries their own melody, and when we meet, our inner songs influence each other, whether we like it or not.
Some people feel like your favorite song – you click right away, the rhythm is there, you keep humming even after you part ways. Others are like songs you’re trying to like, but which chafe every time they come up in the playlist. And sometimes you come across a “Roffe” – a song that just doesn’t fit anymore. Then it’s time to change the song.
What if we saw life as a personalized Spotify list? You have complete freedom to choose which songs you play –
which people you let into your system. You have every right to do so, even if “normality” screams in powerlessness. It takes courage and awareness to choose your playlist.
Riding is music – so is leadership
When we ride, lead, play an instrument or live in close relationship with someone – it’s not just about technique. It’s about feeling. Playing the right notes is not enough – you have to play with your heart. In Humanship & Leadership, we talk about right and left brain. The left analyzes,
structures and counts beats. The right feels, flows and improvises. It is in the right brain that we
experience, create, live.
A skilled rider is like a musician – he feels when the horse changes tone, when the energy shifts. It is not possible to force harmony. It must be felt, in harmony. You as a rider need to understand that your energy is contagious – and the horse’s energy is contagious to you. A rider can be skilled in the left hemisphere and ride a technically flawless round. But that’s not when the audience is moved to tears, it’s when the rider has memorized the technique in the left hemisphere – but rides with the right hemisphere.
The same applies to leadership. You can read all the books in the world, take courses, follow templates – but if you don’t recognize and tune into frequencies, then you are just a technician. Your followers will never be “moved to tears”, they will be robots.
What frequency are you transmitting on?
Everything we think and do sends out vibrations. Our words, our actions, our feelings – our presence. A boss walking around with stress in his body sends out a song with a hot bass. Colleagues play along, the tempo increases, the pulse rises.
A parent who is in balance sends out reassurance. The child feels it directly, without anything being said.
It’s not the words that build relationships – it’s the notes between the words. The same goes for your dog. You don’t have to say anything. It reads your frequency, your energy, your inner song.
Reflect on your life and look at your surroundings – what song are you playing right now? Ask yourself: am I
playing the music of my life – with heart and mind – in time with my inner rhythm? Now you might think that I, writing this, am always living in my playlist – the answer is no. I am constantly influenced by society, which right now plays a lot in minor keys. But I am practicing diligently to fill
life with my “playlist”. I train every day to become a centered and balanced human – and thus a leader for myself, my family, my dog and my horse, as well as for my customers.
Are you curious about how you can create your unique playlist, to take responsibility and fill life with well-being
and harmony – is it time to let life play your chosen songs back? 🎷
