#8 The Value of Identity

The Value of Identity

I trained to become an ICF-certified coach in 2010, and that’s when I had my first big “wow” experience around values, core beliefs, and how they influence the way we live and feel—both positively and negatively. Since that day, values have been a key part of both my personal development and professional role, helping me understand relationships—what makes them work, and what makes them fall apart.

One of my coachees is currently working on strengthening their leadership. To ground their understanding of core values, we did a role-reversal exercise. The coachee got to coach me, with the goal of learning how to identify values. It turned into an exciting experience where I chose to talk about my passion for horses and our horse, De la Grande—why does my soul light up so deeply when horses return to my life?

Authenticity – My True Self

We identified many value words—but one stood out: identity. Identity! The thoughts started to spin, and the development process was in motion.

I was also gently challenged to reflect on:
– Why are you hiding behind the horse?
– Isn’t that actually YOU—everything you always talk about and describe?

That really got my mind going. Am I not brave enough to fully be my authentic self and express myself truthfully and genuinely? To stand in my truth, even if that means I don’t fit in? Do I have the courage to grow and truly identify who I am—on my own terms?

Time for Training

As a Reiki Master, I know that when a new insight hits—you book a session with your mentor.
Said and done.

I’ve always jokingly said to Daniel: “I’m really a witch.”
But on this particular day, I understood that deep down, I’d been resisting going further with what that “joke” actually meant to me.

I’m allergic to boxes and labels—regimes make me restless. My name for myself is: my natural self—which, well, could probably fit into the label “witch”…

What Does It Really Mean – To Be a Witch?

Curious, I immediately looked into the word witch, which originates from the ancient word haguzussa – “one who sits on the boundary.”
A person who can sense the elements of the earth and the energetic frequencies of the universe.

I instantly thought of quantum physics and the balance between masculine and feminine energy. Just think how quickly we humans make everything… binary. How absurd that the church once panicked over these women—these ancient witches—who could read the language of nature and connect with the unseen. They were seen as such a threat, they were burned at the stake.

Today, we know the brain has a left and a right hemisphere—logic and emotion—creating masculine and feminine frequencies. These frequencies have nothing to do with gender. All humans have two brain halves, so each unique individual needs to find balance between their energetic frequencies to experience wellbeing and wholeness.

The modern witch stands confidently in their independence, intuition, and connection to nature’s rhythms. They challenge norms, structures, and patriarchal systems, and feel a deep need to protect Mother Nature. Man or woman—it doesn’t matter. A witch is someone who listens inwardly, reads energy, and has the courage to follow their inner compass. A person in balance between masculine and feminine—someone who can both lead and set boundaries.

The Key to Understanding

Realizing that identity is one of my core values became a key—to myself, and to what we’re building through Humanship & Leadership. How every human, every being, has the right to be fully themselves.

The goal of life is to find and live as your true, unique self. That’s exactly what I found through horsemanship—and what is now growing through humanship.

Our programs offer the tools for understanding that create courage and momentum to begin the journey and navigate your surroundings.

The secret is this: if every unique person on this planet trained themselves to become a balanced, unique, and thriving human being—then the Earth would vibrate with high-frequency energy. Humans and animals would live in symbiosis with nature.
The opposite? Nature will be the only one that survives. Nature has already made it through five mass extinctions…

It’s Not About Magic – It’s About Remembering

Finding my unique humanship—that is my revolution.

To dare to stand in my authentic self, challenge the brainwashing of normality, and meet the consequences with warmth in my heart.

I search for keys from different teachings and piece together life’s puzzle, bit by bit. Today, it was “witch.” Tomorrow, maybe something from Japan—like IKIGAI, the meaning of life through inner passion.

The best guide for me is ME. The best guide for you is YOU.
It’s important to have the right coaches and guides—those whose words truly land in your gut…

“Balance your humanship – and your leadership will follow.”
