Energy Balancing – A Bridge Between the Inner and the Outer
If someone had told me 20 years ago that my inner energy was out of balance, I would have probably snorted and said: “I don’t believe in that nonsense.” But I have to admit that I have always been fascinated by what used to be called “fortune tellers.” How does it really work?
My journey towards inner understanding began with intuition and gut feeling when I trained as an ICF coach. Step by step, understanding crept in, and just as quickly, the fear of the unknown disappeared.
As an organizational developer, I fell in love with the LEAN method:
“LEAN was developed by Taiichi Ohno and Eiji Toyoda at Toyota after World War II to optimize resources, reduce waste and produce high-quality products, in order to become competitive.”
When Reiki crossed my path, it felt like a natural path for me to follow:
“Reiki is a Japanese energy healing method founded by Mikao Usui in the early 20th century. It aims to promote relaxation, reduce stress and balance the body’s energy by channelling universal life energy and supporting the well-being of the recipient.”
The unique journey…
My Reiki Master training included practicing and writing reports. A friend, who was already familiar with chakra balancing through yoga, volunteered as a recipient:
“Chakras are energy centres in the body, according to Indian tradition. There are seven main chakras along the spine, and each chakra is linked to specific areas, emotions and qualities. Balanced chakras promote harmony and health.”
Before we began the treatment series, my friend had to write down her goals, which she kept to herself. It takes courage to let go of feelings and the desire for inner balance. Here are some of her thoughts after the treatment:
A: “I didn’t really think distance Reiki was possible, but yes, it was. Reiki for me is a feeling and an encounter with something bigger – maybe the universe or my true self, which is behind the thoughts. Therese has been the channel between me and all that is big.”
T: I see Reiki as music – a harmonious symphony that emerges when the “buttons” are activated. As a Reiki Master, it is like playing an instrument, where each button releases a unique energy and frequency. These energies flow through me as a channel and also to the recipient, creating a powerful melody of balancing vibrations.
My friend continued:
A:” Absolutely fantastic experiences but sometimes also opened up with difficult emotions. During the treatments, I have felt different strengths and in different places in my body and head. I have seen different colors, when I closed my eyes, such as green and blue. I have felt tingling in my legs, a special heaviness in my legs that it was difficult to lift them. Also a feeling that “someone” is close to me, on my left side, there have been crawling in my scalp and a feeling of peace and tranquility throughout me.”
T: Animals still have their natural connection to energy and reading of energies around them. My own journey began with my animals – the horse Mico and the dog Tequila – who taught me to understand the language of energy by mirroring me when I was out of balance versus when I was in balance.
My friend continued:
A:” I often wished for peace and joy before each treatment. My beloved cat, Nelson, was often with me and he did not behave as he used to. He wanted to be on my left side and also jump up, on my chest, and step – sometimes he lay quietly and slept.
It is a special experience with Reiki that I wish others could experience that feeling.”
Increase understanding of the natural
In the Western world of normality, I feel that the natural world has become something strange for us humans. However, interest has increased in methods from Asia such as yoga, qigong, Ayurveda and Reiki, which has thereby made it more natural even for us in the West. These methods increase the understanding of Ki/chi/prana (energy) and its importance for our balance, health and well-being.
For me, it’s about balancing the logical with the empathic to give you the courage to explore the world of energy. Every individual who chooses to journey inward does so with great courage, and every journey is unique. As an ICF coach or Reiki Master, I have the privilege of being a guide, but it is always the person themselves who owns their journey. It is an honor and a great respect to be able to follow someone on this path, but the only one who knows the way is always the person themselves. A journey with Reiki is an example of how the power of stillness can change our perspectives and strengthen our self-confidence.
